Position: Project Manager - Exhibition Division

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Project Manager – Exhibition Division to join our team. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning, execution, and success of our exhibitions, while also driving sales efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong project management skills, a passion for the events industry, proven sales capabilities, and a keen eye for market research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Exhibition Planning and Development:

  • Lead the planning and development stage of exhibition projects, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
  • Provide strategic input on exhibition concepts, themes, and layout designs based on market research, industry trends, and client feedback.
  • Oversee the development of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.

2. Sales Generation:

  • Proactively identify and pursue sales opportunities for our exhibitions, including selling exhibition booth space, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to provide tailored solutions.
  • Utilise a variety of sales techniques, including cold calling, networking, and client meetings, to generate leads and close sales.
  • Collect payments from clients in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to payment terms and procedures.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, consistently delivering high-quality results.

3. Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide updates on project progress.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and excellent service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling of exhibition services, such as booth upgrades and sponsorships.

4. Operational and Logistic Coordination:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the operational and logistics teams throughout the pre-exhibition, exhibition, and tear-down phases.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, booth setup, exhibitor registration, and onsite coordination, to ensure seamless execution of exhibitions.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential risks and challenges, implementing contingency plans as needed to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

5. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead the project team and sales team, managing resources and delegating tasks effectively to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and cohesive working environment.
  • Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to drive continuous improvement and achieve project objectives.

6. Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for growth.
  • Analyse sales data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Requirement:

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with a proven track record of success in project management and sales, preferably within the events, exhibitions, or related industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Experience in project management within the service or exhibition industry is
    advantageous.
